    About Digs Guide

Independent reviews and honest comparisons for UK contractors who need temporary accommodation — without the agency spin.

    Why we built this

Finding decent temporary accommodation as a UK contractor is surprisingly hard. Most comparison sites are either stuffed with hotel aggregators that don't understand contractor needs, or run by the very providers they're reviewing.

We built Digs Guide to fill that gap. Our focus is narrow by design: we cover providers who specifically serve the UK contractor and project worker market — businesses offering serviced apartments, managed houses, and short-stay corporate accommodation on terms that actually work for contractors (weekly billing, flexible exits, bills included).

Every provider on this site has been assessed against the same seven criteria: city coverage, quality standards, pricing transparency, billing flexibility, stay flexibility, response time, and online booking. The scores you see reflect what we found, not what providers paid to appear.

    What we cover

We review providers available across the UK, from large networks with hundreds of managed properties to specialist regional operators. Our current coverage spans 20 cities, with more added as we audit providers operating in new locations.

    • Managed serviced accommodation providers
    • Corporate short-stay housing networks
    • Contractor-specialist lettings services

We do not currently review standard hotels, Airbnb hosts, or general letting agencies. Our scope is deliberately focused on the providers that have built specifically for the contractor and project worker market.

    How our reviews work

Each review is produced through a structured audit process: we test booking flows, analyse pricing structures, review contractual terms, and gather feedback from contractors who have used the service. Our scoring methodology is published openly — you can read the full methodology here.

We update reviews at least every six months, or sooner when a provider makes significant changes to their pricing, coverage, or service model. The "last updated" date on each review tells you when we last reviewed the data.

    How we're funded

Digs Guide earns revenue through affiliate referral fees and featured placement advertising. When you click through to a provider and make a booking or enquiry, we may receive a commission. Sponsored placements are clearly labelled and do not influence review scores.

    Get in touch

We welcome corrections, provider submissions, and reader feedback. If you're a provider and believe your listing is inaccurate, or if you're a contractor with experience of a listed provider, we want to hear from you.
